INTERESTED IN ADOPTING??? Click here to view pics and bio's of each one of our available horses. If you can't find a horse there please click here to access our Sales Barn, where we post courtesy listings for those looking to place there horses in loving homes. Please CONTACT US if you are interested in any of our horses and would like more info. Before coming out we do ask that you fill out our pre-adoption questionnairre. Filling out a PAQ ahead of time helps in case you decide you love the horse you've seen and would like to adopt. This will speed along the adoption process. Both the Pre-Adoption Questionnaire and the Adoption Contract can be optained by simply emailing us a request to view. WRERS has a strict non-breeding policy for all equines in our care. All mares go out on this strict non breeding clause and any and all studs that may come in as such are gelded ASAP and any young colts are done so when they are ready and able to have the procedure done. This is for the simple reason that we believe there are too many wonderful horses going to the slaughterhouses simply because there are not enough homes for them. We retain ownership of the horse for one(1) year after the adoption contract is signed, this is for the safety of the horse to ensure that the home that was chosen was the right one, with this being said we aren't taking back horses due to little things and would perfer to not have to take back a horse unless absolutely neccessary. Once the one(1) year period is over you are mailed or given a Certificate of Title (ownership). If at anytime circumstances change and you can no longer keep the horse, we ask that you contact us first and offer us Rigth of First Refusal, if it's still within the year of the contract, then horse is bought back at adoption fee, if after the year then horse may be purchased back by us at a fee you feel reflects the current mareket for said horse. If we decline the offer to take said horse back you may then sell the horse. Horses are to be sold privately, as stated in our contract and may not go to auction or to a meat buyer. Adoption contracts must be signed by a person of legal age, if you are under 18 please have a parent or guardian contact us on your behalf. WRERS charges an adoption fee for our equines. Money received goes towards caring for our rescued horses and finding them good homes. We also have horses available under what we call 'Free Lifetime Companion Lease', these horses are either too old or are retire or they have sustained an injury that has left them as companion horses only. We lease them out for free with an approved home so that they can still get the one on one family attention that horses need. They are still under the same rules as our adoptable horses except we retain ownership of the horse. You get to have a horse at your residence for as long as you wish to help out these animals. It's a good way to have them and not have to worry about riding them to keep them in shape, alot of the horses on these just need love, they just want to be groomed and fretted over. Again we thank you! |
